I have a level 4 qualification in EMDR gained from the EMDR Academy and have particular experience working with traumatic bereavement.
EMDR is recognised by the National Insititute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and with the World Health Organisation (WHO) for working with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), but also has been found to be extremely useful to process any memory which continues to cause us distress.
EMDR is a structured approach to therapy which involves bilateral stimulation (stimulating both sides of our brains). This is done either by using eye movements, sound, touch or tapping. This unlocks our natural healing process which helps traumatic memories to be processed. It can not change what has happened to us, or remove memories but it can take the distress out of these memories.
I offer EMDR therapy, either online (using a specific programme) or in person.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss whether EMDR might be suitable for you.
